The Upper Swansea Valley has numerous attractions and places of interest to suit all tastes.
From the National Showcaves of Wales with its caverns and dinosaur park (see
picture below), to haunted castles such as Craig-y-Nos there is lots to see and do.
In addition there are locally
organised activities such as motor-cross, canyoning, paintballing, clay shooting,
fishing, walking, orienteering, canoeing, as well as a number of local
golf courses.

Wales is famous for its castles and steam railways and
the area around Ystradgynlais has its fair share of both.
